So what exactly is the purpose of your business, dad?

So what exactly is the purpose of your business, dad?

In my previous blog post, I shared a story about a conversation I had with my son, Raghav, when he asked why I wasn't featured on a billboard.

Today, I’d like to share the continuation of that conversation, where Raghav posed another insightful question. "So what exactly is the purpose of your business, dad?" he asked, his eyes full of curiosity. It was a simple question, but it made me think deeply about what I do and why I do it.

You see, the purpose of my business is not just about making money or achieving success. It's about making my clients so outrageously happy with the help I provide that they happily introduce me to at least two more people they care about. Not because they feel obligated, but because they genuinely believe that I can help their friends or family members.

This realization didn't come to me overnight. It was a journey, a transformation of sorts. I used to spend a lot of time and energy trying to find new clients, chasing leads, and trying to grow my business. But then I realized something. The most efficient form of advertising is not flashy billboards or catchy jingles. It's introductions from the people I help to the people they care about.

This shift in perspective changed everything for me. Instead of focusing on finding new clients, I started investing my time in serving my existing clients better. I started putting their needs first, going above and beyond to ensure their satisfaction. And you know what? It worked. My clients started introducing me to their friends and family, and my business started growing organically.

So, to answer Raghav's question, the purpose of my business is to serve my clients so well that they can't help but introduce me to the people they care about. It's about building relationships, not just transactions. It's about making a difference in people's lives, not just making a profit.

I hope this gives you a better understanding of why I do what I do. And I hope it inspires you to think about the purpose of your own work. What drives you? What makes you jump out of bed every morning? What is your 'why'?

Remember, it's not just about what we do, but why we do it. And when we find that 'why', everything else falls into place.

Warm regards!
