Our New Year mission to raise $10,000 for the Toronto SickKids hospital
My first exposure to Sick Kids hospital was more than 25 years ago. I was fairly new to the country.
My friend’s niece, who was about 2 or 3 years old at that time, was admitted in the Sick Kids hospital to repair a hole in her heart.
The ambiance was so great. I have visited many hospitals during my previous work as a Pharmaceutical Rep, but this place was amazing. There was hope… love… and care in the atmosphere. The staff, from Doctors, to Nurses, admins, support staff to volunteers, everyone was just great. They do incredible work helping kids fight debilitating, life-threatening diseases.
And this little girl, niece of my friend, was successfully operated upon, and is now living a normal healthy life and is already married.
Then, as I was settling down in Canada, I randomly started donating to Sick Kids, $50 here, $100 there. Kind of Paying forward so that my kids remain healthy always, and in turn also help kids admitted there, in whatever little way I could.
Then One day a girl knocked on my door, she was going door to door to encourage people to donate to SickKids. I told her that I already donate now and then. Then she suggested, why don’t I set up some automatic monthly payment. I liked the idea and I signed up right there and then and set up a small monthly payment to be taken out of my account. And probably it’s been more than 10 years and I am still continuing with those donations.
So as our Ace Team Brokerage was growing, I was thinking of increasing my contribution to some worthy cause. Then the pandemic hit. Our hospitals needed funds desperately to buy PPDs, ventilators and what not. So During Christmas Holidays of 2020, I ran a campaign to raise funds for our local William Osler Hospital. I requested my clients to contribute and promised to match dollar to dollar to the funds donated by them. My target was to raise $1000 and we ended up collecting $1350 for the hospital.
We are now on a mission to raise $10,000 for the SickKids hospital. The way we are doing that is by donating a portion of every dollar we earn from my real estate business to this amazing organization and support kids.
So when you do business with our Ace Team Realty or introduce us to your friends or family members you care about and believe that they need the best help for buying, selling or investing in real estate, you and they not only get a great professional help from us but are also supporting this great cause of helping kids at SickKids hospital.
So thank you for your business and introducing us to your friends and family members.
